This time did NOT get the "Disk Write Error" at 96 GB/96 GB downloaded as before. For this go into steam settings > DOWNLOADS > STEAM LIBRABRY FOLDER > click on the three dots on the specific drive and click repair folder. Ran ONLY Steam w/o any anti-virus or other protections running. Turned off every anti-virus, malware, or other shield or protection I had running.Ħ. Ran "repair" in the "Steam Library Folders" under "Downloads" in Steamĥ. Changed my steam download location from Washington, DC. Select the 'Clone OS Disk' or 'Clone Data Disk' and click 'Next'. Designated the ENTIRE steam directory as non-read only (again - somehow read only kept getting re-enabled after disabling it). Make sure youve selected the drive youre trying to install games on in the drop. First, open your Steam settings and switch to the Storage tab. Uninstalled the game (again) and deleted game files in the steam directory (but not the documents where my saved games were located - those I kept).Ģ. There are a couple of tricks we can try to fix it. I’ve tried almost everything that has been suggested to me. It’s working fine on my C drive, but there isn’t enough storage on it for my games. I tried this but Steam resest the download to downloads folder when I try. The steam disk write error has been affecting my D drive for a while now. I'm not sure which part of this process I used in my latest attempt was the one (or combination) that did the trick, but it's worth sharing everything I tried on this (successful) attempt.ġ. Check your disk permissions ensure theres no empty folders being created under SteamAppscommon and try running Steam as an administrator if the Support article doesnt help. UPDATE: For the first time in a day and a half, I've got ME:LE working.
